  1. It takes a lot of listening to harsh noise before one can appreciate harsh noise. c:

  2. You should start with Merzbow. Venereology is on Spotify. Harsh noise inspired by death metal and grindcore but Masami Akita says : "I liked something more extreme than the death metal rules"
If you think it's a bit short you can try Merzbient on spotify (12 CD album). It is unfortunate but the Merzbox isn't on spotify (50 CD album) but you can go on Grooveshark.
    I love Merzbow.

  3. Dude this is really not that harsh, even Fuck Buttons gets harsher than this. Try Kongmanivong for some harsh noise.

As to how to enjoy this sort of music.. I really like long train journeys and stuff like that, maybe just a lifetime of travel has gotten me so used to noise that I prefer it to silence? And sometimes music that can be interpreted can be distracting: the good thing about noise is there are no patterns to find, so your brain doesn't try to find patterns

  4. Okay after listening for longer I take back what I said about it not being harsh haha. This is legit :)

  5. If you are someone who has racing thoughts, sometimes harsh noise cancels that out and offers relaxation where there was once chaos.

  6. The journey through noise is hard & long. Try Merzbow's collaboration with Boris, Sun Baked Snow Cave.
